L’Essex è ricorrente come ambientazione e viene spesso descritta come un luogo magico, nebbioso e ancestrale, quasi come se fosse un personaggio vivo capace di influenzare il destino degli uomini.

As a child, she was not allowed to listen to pop music or watch television; this isolation led her to nourish her imagination with the Bible and classical literature. Among her most famous novels, The Essex Serpent, published in 2016, stands out. It achieved critical and popular success and is the book I have chosen to read first.
